The Ditsobotla Local Municipality is a Category B municipality situated within the Ngaka Modiri Molema District in the North West Province.

The municipality is one of the five municipalities in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District of the North West Province, covering almost a quarter of the district’s geographical area. Its administrative seat is Lichtenburg. The municipality was formed through the amalgamation of the former Lichtenburg, Coligny, and Biesiesvlei Transitional Councils.
