The Nala Local Municipality is a Category B municipality, located in the northern part of the Lejweleputswa District in the Free State, is part of South Africa’s key ‘Maize Triangle.’ This region is vital to the country’s maize production and agricultural economy.
The council ha 24 seats with 4 political parties and one civic movement represented. The ANC is a leading party with 12 seats but required a majority of 13 seats to govern alone. The current coalition is made up of the ANC and NCF totalling 14 seats.
The council was constituted on November 2021 with no changes.
